Honoring those who have passed
Comforting those who remain

Let me walk with you through this important step in your goodbye journey.

I offer custom funeral services. I will guide you through your funeral plans and serve as host and officiant.

Whether it’s a simple memorial in your home, a traditional funeral or a graveside service, together we will plan a meaningful ceremony that reflects your loved one well.

A ceremony gives us the opportunity to celebrate the life of the one who has passed and to comfort those who remain behind.

Funeral Celebrant
Personal Pastor

As a pastor for many years, I found my most meaningful role in conducting funerals and leading community bereavement services. Having experienced a significant grief journey of my own, I was drawn to this work and found fulfilment in creating space for those who grieve.

When I stepped away from the ministry to serve in public office as a City Councillor, I found my heart was still drawn with compassion and concern towards many in my community who were suffering.

Rather than seeking re-election, I chose to make myself available once again to serve as a funeral celebrant and personal pastor.

Your Caring Guide for a Meaningful Service

What is a Celebrant?

A celebrant is a trained professional who will assist families during their time of loss. They will create a ceremony that is personalized to meet the needs of the family and reflect the loved one who has passed.

Whether you are secular, religious, spiritual, part of an interfaith or multicultural family or you simply wish to honour your loved one in a unique way, a celebrant can assist you.

As Your Celebrant, I Commit to:

As Your Celebrant,
I Commit to:

Listen with empathy and compassion
Serve with respect and sensitivity
Honour the one who has passed
Care for those who grieve

The Process

I will meet with you and  the family, listen to memories and thoughts about your loved one and discuss your ideas for a service. As you share, we will design a ceremony that captures your loved one’s personality, values and accomplishments.

We will also consider the unique needs and desires of your family. The possibilities are vast. We can create a funeral, memorial or graveside service, anniversary tribute, tree planting, ashes scattering, bench dedication or any other gathering designed to honour the one who has passed.

Even if there has been a long time since the death, we can find a way to formally acknowledge the passing. The setting may be a home, golf course, outdoor venue or church. We will select a location and create a ceremony that reflects your loved one and brings comfort to those who grieve.

I will be present with you to care and to guide you through this phase of the journey.

Grief Care

In grief care I will walk beside you on your grief journey, one session at a time. In these one hour sessions, I will serve as a caring listener and gentle guide.

You will set the pace as we navigate the process together. I will listen, reflect and share observations to help bring understanding and acceptance. If desired, we may also receive the strength, comfort and peace of God.

I will come to you as I offer old fashioned house calls (alternate location is also available). Each session stands alone.
You will choose if and when we meet again.

If we find more help is needed, I can make a referral to a trusted psychologist.
